Norwood outlasts Ross in OT
Norwood hit its free throws in overtime and pulled away to defeat Ross 61-57 in a boys’ basketball game Friday night.
Norwood senior guard Lee Young had forced the extra period when he hit a 3-pointer with three seconds left in the fourth quarter.
Young finished with 15 points. Senior forward Christian Patterson scored 19 points to lead Norwood.
Ross, which made nine 3-pointers, was led by sophomore Cole Stalker’s 19 points.
Senior forward Darrien Wilkins scored 20 points to lead Princeton. Junior Brian Carden and sophomore JD Sprague scored 12 points each for Mason.
Moeller 65, Badin 42: Junior guard Charlie Byers had a game-high 17 points with six rebounds to lead the Crusaders. Guard Scott Purcell led Badin with 14 points.
Cincinnati Country Day 56, Clark Montessori 49: Freshman guard DJ Wingfield scored a game-high 19 points with 12 rebounds, leading CCD to its first win.
Taft 89, Hughes 59: Senior guard Cameron Mitchell scored a game-high 26 points to lead Taft.
Sophomore forward Adolphus Washington added 17 points and a game-high 15 rebounds for the Senators.
Fairborn 71, Lebanon 68: Lebanon senior guard Blake Davenport had 22 points.
Glen Este 69, Loveland 54: Junior forward Mike Bouley had a game-high 16 points for Glen Este. Senior Tony Hamann led Loveland with 12.
Summit 82, New Miami 16 : Junior Ryan Glass scored all of his game-high 15 points in the first half for Summit.
Edgewood 61, Northwest 58: Senior forward Sam Hackney led all scorers with 16 points, giving Edgewood its third straight victory.
Colerain 56, Hamilton 54 (OT): Colerain outscored Hamilton 18-10 in the fourth quarter to force overtime, then held on for the win.
Colerain senior forward Ken Kunkel had 18 points. Senior guard Robert Merz led Hamilton with 18.
Oak Hills 73, Sycamore 64: Junior Thomas Schneider led all scorers with 23 points and Jeremy Wessels added 22 for Oak Hills.
Kings 75, Amelia 55: Kings senior Spencer Berlekamp scored 17 points.
Elder 72, Purcell Marian 48: Elder won its season opener on the road behind 16 points from Jordan Murphy.
Lakota West 60, Fairfield 53: Senior guard Obi Nwankwo had a game-high 18 points and Phillip Cook had 14 points, 11 rebounds and four blocks for West.
Lockland 59, Cincinnati Christian 52 (OT): Lockland shut out Cincinnati Christian in overtime.
Chris Gray finished with 18 points for CC.
Lockland was led by senior forward Frankie Young’s game-high 24 points.
Bethel-Tate 56, Goshen 45: Senior forward Louie Schaljo and junior guard Tyler Bullock each scored 16 points for Bethel.
Reading 43, Wyoming 39: Senior center Ben Gertz scored 22 points with 13 rebounds and hit a free throw with 25 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Walnut Hills 39, Turpin 32: Junior center Benson Browne scored 15 points and senior point guard Brandon Howard added 12 for Walnut.
Madeira 66, Finneytown 47: Senior Rob Misleh grabbed 14 rebounds to go with his nine points for Madeira.
Mariemont 65, Taylor 49: Junior forwards Chip Stewart and Taylor Sizer each scored 20 points for the Warriors.
